The Beauty Conquered in 5 Days

Time and again hearing a lot about ABC trek, one day I ask âWhy not explore it?â
With the notion, a brilliant plan to conquer those mountains followed.
Annapurna Base Camp trek is often celebrated as stunningly beautiful by natural sites striking right through the eye to heart.
The deep gorges, drove of mules moving together, the sound of flowing river along the route, long suspension bridge bridging the gap between two hills with water flowing underneath, views of green lush lands, snow-capped mountains, serene natural forest and coming across with diverse ethnic communities will leave you speechless awakening your soul making the Annapurna trek one of the most delightful treks among all destinations in Nepal.
On this 5 day short yet powerful journey towards ABC, I personally crown it as âimpressively beguilingâ trek.
Rising and grabbing up the backpack, my journey starts on 21st September 2019 all set for ABC.
As told by Marlon Wayans, âSuccess is not a destination, but the road that you’re on. Being successful means that you’re working hard and walking your walk every day. You can only live your dream by working hard towards it. That’s living your dreamâ, my trek felt exactly the same.
The journey starting from a small village in Landruk and returning back to it is what I will truly appreciate in all my life. The up and down hilly trail trekking is somewhat hard and tiring. There is no doubt that to acquire some great thing you have to give a lot of yourself in it. It was the same while I was trekking to one of the eight-thousanders mountains in the world.
Starting from Pokhara, we reached Landruk village by hiring a Scorpio. From there onwards we moved further to Jhinu Dada after 2 and 1/2 hours of walk. Jhinu Dada is one of the popular gateways for reaching ABC. As we decided to stay at Jhinu, our evening was followed by a visit to a nearby famous natural hot spring known as Jhinu Hot Spring.
* Awesome point to take a warm relaxing bath encompassed in nature. Please check the link to access the map leading to Jhinu Hot Spring.
The next day, on the early morning all set for trekking we left Jhinu Dada at 6 am.
On The Way
(about 1-hour hike starting from Jhinu Dada)Â
A foreigner gaged about the journey,â I want to say that it’s gonna be really easy from here but I am not going to lie.â
We both laughed but that jest made up by the lady gave me a kind of boost to keep moving. It felt like an indication that whatever the road is going to be, it will be traveled with fun and laughter.
This is the the first glimpse I saw, the most popular mountain known as Machchapuchhre (Fishtail) on the way inclining from Bamboo to Dovan. The clear picture of fishtail top snowy peak can be captured from here.
The best thing about this trek is that it is able to provide lodge accommodation and after every 2-3 hours of the hike you will find welcoming guest houses and restaurants. Rest for some hours while tasting unique Nepali drinks and watching spectacular views. During the course, you can have enough food and drinks available on the way. So itâs better to not occupy your backpack with much food items and make it light.
The excitement was increasing as we were getting closer to ABC. Then finally we reached Machhapuchhre Base Camp. Surrounding landscapes, beautiful natural views with a glimpse of mountains, changing weather like feeling a bit colder and amazing food we had at the Gurung (ethnic community) restaurant are the best moments to cherish. It felt like a small celebration before the victory of acquiring something.
âHow many hours will it take from here?â I asked the owner lady of the restaurant. Just 1 and 1â2 hour, she replied. After resting for a while, with the moment of joy, we moved toward ABC. The lady gestured us with a smile and told us to return back tomorrow for a good breakfast.
I must say that the path from MBC to ABC will really fascinate every passionate traveler. The views with the mixture of yellow and green grass with beautiful rocky mountains are breathtaking. The water flowing from ABC felt like it was greeting and welcoming us to the base point.
Finally, I saw a board âWelcome to ABCâ. Stepping right after that board grounding my trekking sticks and waving the flag of Nepal was an ecstatic moment.
Life Time Achievement
Due to whether the views were not clear and none of the ranges were visible. Leaving my friends behind, I walked towards a steep rock reaching the perfect center point to watch the surroundings. The base camp was surrounded by the tallest mountains such as Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, Hiunchuli and Nilgiri. However, it was hard to locate those peaks in that cloudy weather.
In spite of it, it was amazing to be in the land where everything you see from your eyes looks splendid. I sat down on the huge rock watching the aura of ABC, I closed my eyes for a while. Breathing in and out, I was really living the moment I meditated for a while paying reverence to Goddess Annapurna.
I opened my eyes. Suddenly, all the fog covering the mountains started moving the other way followed by rays of the sun, the weather became clear. To catch the views people came out of the lodges and ran towards me.
Â
The Best 15 Minutes
The weather was clear and all the peaks were so clear that I really touched them through my eyes. It lasted for 15 minutes. Mountains ranges so closer, shinnying by the rays of the sun and the peaks shimmering like gold is the best moments making the trek so satisfying.
In front of massive mountains and spectacular ambiance, I was proud of making my way so far.
Night at ABC
Almost no one staying in ABC could sleep that night. Due to the lower oxygen levels and freezing cold weather, it was really hard to get a good sleep. The lack of oxygen and slow blood circulation with the ongoing cold left me awake mostly at ABC.
Finally
In the early morning, we acclimatized to MBC and had a wonderful breakfast with the stunning morning views of MBC. The hike ended with reaching to lower Sinuwa at 2000 m from 4130 m that day. The following day with 4-5 hours descending we reached the initial point where our trek started.

Reading about it can feel good, however, ABC is not among the places which you should read, listen to or watch. It must be experienced fully with your mind, body, and soul. Being one of the most popular and well-facilitated, it is one of the best short treks in Nepal. I am planning to do Annapurna Base Camp Trek along with my friends in the very first week of upcoming October, 2018. I need to know what will be the nature of weather then? Will there be a lot of cold or rain? What will be the minimum temparature?
The weather is cold so don’t miss to carry your warm clothes. Also, as the area is prone to rain often it is highly advised to carry raincoat. Cheers!
Have a great trek.
Another 20 minutes passed and it was finally light and a little sad. Clouds Two long-awaited eight thousandths were covered with a dense layer and we consider could only a narrow strip of sky in the East. Have a little lifted mood Nepalese students – a large group of young people cheerfully and loudly fotkalas in T-shirts. The guys shouted, the girls squealed, the photographers looked smartly in the screens. A little later blew a dawn breeze and lightly dispersed the clouds over the South Annapurna, but the group learned about the existence of Dhaulagiri only two hours. Yes, we quickly went down to the orphanage, had breakfast and already at 9 am broke away from the internet (worked as a wifi) and went out on the route.
